Two days ago, I saw "Adunle," a local Ghanaian corn snack, well packaged and sitting on the shelf of a minimart. As a creative person, my eyes were pleased at such top-notch packaging that could compete with some foreign snacks. In this current age of Generation Z, the love and enjoyment of locally manufactured snacks are not expressed. Some do not know of their existence. Gone were the days when "Achomo," "Peanut Cake," "Coconut Candy," and many others were even accessible in traffic. Due to a change in era and an increased taste for foreign candy and food products, the market has switched. Considering their packaging and with the help of social media, these foreign snacks find their way into the Ghanaian market, catapulting the rapid neglect of our delicious, locally-made snacks.
